“We are very excited to be part of this community.” This is how Ebbie Khan Nakhjavani, CEO of EKN Development – the Californian company that will invest 64 million euros to revive the Grand Hotel – addressed authorities and citizens at the inauguration of the new bridge over the Brembo River in San Pellegrino, which is named after the mountain bike champion Dario Acquaroli.
The American entrepreneur attended the ceremony with his son, receiving applause from the people of San Pellegrino and the many authorities present: the regional councillor for Infrastructure, Claudia Maria Terzi; the European parliamentarian, Lara Magoni; the president of the mountain community, Valeriano Bianchi; the mayor of San Pellegrino, Fausto Galizzi; and the representatives of the cycling world, friends of Acquaroli.
“The Grand Hotel being so important" said Mr. Nakhjavani, "lends itself to the creation of a hotel structure with a beautiful spa.” On the sidelines, he reiterated that the signing of the agreement with the Municipality for the start of the works should arrive shortly.
BRIDGE MOVEMENTS MONITORED 24 HOURS A DAY
The American entrepreneur's speech took place during the inauguration ceremony of the new bridge, whose technical features were illustrated. Among the characterizing elements is the presence of a 24-hour monitoring system for movements (of the two abutments, in particular): the bridge, based on temperature variations, can rise or fall up to 30 centimeters. "Today we are inaugurating this bridge," said Mayor Galizzi, "which, beyond its usefulness in connecting the two banks of the river, stands as a symbolic sign of unity."
